This 54” wide antique mahogany dining table was brought in for complete repair and refinishing. The oxidized finish had lost its transparency and was muddy in color.

Two of the table leaves were missing, and the existing all had split open on the ends from shrinkage.

The base was very loose and had lifted and missing veneer throughout.

Repairs were completed to tighten the base, and the runners were reset to operate smoothly with a center leg that folds down for added support when all six leaves are in. The loose veneer was re-glued and pieces were set in where missing.

Repairs were also made to the top and two new leaves were fabricated to match. The finish was removed, and the table was sanded, re-stained, finished in lacquer, hand rubbed and waxed.
